I have a political theory on the whole holding back of the impeachment articles to the senate and the recent airstrike in Baghdad.
I believe that pretty much everybody has gotten tired of the impeachment issue. But arresting the process by holding onto the articles and not passing it to the Senate was the only option that the Speaker Pelosi had to make sure the process was actually followed and to protect the intention of a fair trial. With McConnell swearing he would coordinate with Trump’s defense team, he made the Senate mute in terms of actually doing their assigned job as independent jurors in the process. So holding back the articles has presented a new way for this country to move forward and for republicans’ to win the White House in the next election, but not with Trump. There will be a different Republican Candidate.
There are the usual Trump ass kissers like Pence and Pompeo, but I believe that most people are done with the disgrace of the White House and the tarnishing of the Presidency, so a more moderate, normal republican like Mitt Romney or Mike Kasich. Even Susan Collins or Lisa Murkowski would work. * but ohh…their women so most likely not*
And Frankly, I think that most middle of the road folk are equally fatigued by the democratic circus which had looked like an all in pool party, but has turned out to be an exclusive for white rich clubbers only. Elizabeth Warren yells too much and Bernie, well, i lived in Vermont for quite a while and actually met him a couple of times, both in Burlington and in Washington, and I would rather have Peter Welch work on my behalf..but he is smartly not running. Bernie’s voice grades my nerves. I met Joe Bidden once, while flying on a plane heading from one place to another, and he was perfectly engaging. But he is like the coffee stain you can’t get rid of and will always be associated with the Obama presidency. I like Pete, he speaks something like 7 languages, served in the military, have even given money for his campaign, but he is married and this country still is bigoted when it comes to who we love…so I don’t think he has a chance. If those are the top candidates, and one is elected, then this country continues to be at a political log jam. Republican’s won’t work with them. Out of stuck minded principal.
And I am not some political prophet. I think folks in the know are stalling and waiting for Trump to really step in his own mess, because he can’t help himself. I think that Pelosi holding the articles back have allowed time to do it’s thing. I also think Trump’s newest distraction move with the air strike last night might just have push it along. This is an act of War that Trump did, without the backing of the congress. Americans don’t want any more war. Trump will be forced out, or given a deal, and Pence will sit in as lame duck president but only for a short time. The republican party will put in a moderate who will easily beat any democrat in the election.
Now, just say’n that I also expected Trump to be impeached in the first year of his presidency. But that it has taken this long only proves how disconnected and disgusted we all are in the process. I could be wrong, but at least I am watching.
